Bjarne, who was just ten years old at the time, delivered a performance of Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” during his audition for The Voice. Last month, the youngster auditioned blindly for The Voice Kids Germany, and his enormous voice was unbelievable. The innocent-looking youngster stepped onto the stage with a stuffed rabbit, but his voice betrayed his advanced years.
At the beginning of the song, Bjarne displayed a rich bottom register, and then he moved into a gorgeous high range. The first judge pressed his buzzer before Bjarne had even begun to sing the chorus, setting off a raucous celebration from the singer’s family standing onstage. By the time the child had completed the chorus, all four judges had taken a seat in support of him, ensuring that he would not leave unnoticed.
A lot more was still up Bjarne’s sleeve, though. He poured his heart and soul into the final note before the bridge, leaving Judge Lena Meyer-Landrut speechless; she couldn’t lift her jaw from the floor for a while. He had what she later described as “sounds that are like from heaven” in his voice.
The young man had just blown everyone away during his audition. The judges rushed onto the stage to high-five Bjarne after the performance, and Meyer-Landrut embraced him while squealing with joy. Both the little singer and his proud mother were overcome with emotion at the monumental occasion. Álvaro Soler, the judge, performed the piano later on, and Bjarne and Soler sang a duet of “Another Love Song” by Tom Odell.
